Crochet Totoro

Just sharing a cute little Totoro that I crocheted for my sweet niece.  It’s too adorable not to share.  Snapped a few pics before I packaged it off to her with some treats!

The yarns used were Bernat Softee Baby Yarn in Flannel and Soft White.  The crochet pattern I improvised off of is by @beary_bernita from AmiguWorld’s website:  Chubby Totoro Pattern.  Although @beary_bernita’s version with the embroidered face is ridiculously cute, I opted to put in 6mm animal doll eyes instead.

Here’s a side view so you can see his little tail!  Crocheting this little guy made me miss the movie My Neighbor Totoro.  One of my favorites as a kid!  It must be at least 20 years since I last watched it.  I think this weekend I’ll have to introduce this movie to my son.  He’s 10 and I think it may just become one of his favorites too!
